OUGD406 Studio Brief 4 | Final Booklet

OUGD406 Module Evaluation

OUGD406 Module Evaluation

Out of all the modules we’e done this year I have found 406 to be the most challenging. I think the main reason for this was my absence at the start of the term, after Christmas. After that I found it hard to catch up and be up to date when it came to the final brit days, which I missed a couple of. My absence was only part of the issue, I found my time management to be worse during this module compared to the others and I was rushing at the end of every brief which impacted the quality of my work.

I think the worst part of this module for me was probably Studio Brief 2. After working to catch up everyone on Studio Brief 1 and working towards the deadline everything seemed to go downhill on brief 2. I managed to create a book cover and sleeve that I was quite happy with, but as always I just wish I had explored ore options rather than just going with one of the first I think of; this is an issue I really aim to fix next year.

I enjoyed briefs 3 and 4 the most as my group worked really well together and I was pleased with the work we produced. As I had never worked with a group on a graphic design project before I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I went into it thinking I wouldn’t like having to check with others on my work or discuss ideas, but I found it to be very helpful. Brief 4 was good because we were allowed to do anything we wanted. I’ve found I really enjoyed editorial design so I decided to do a booklet on the basic rules of the digital print room.

If I was to do this module again I’d manage my time better, making sure I kept on top of my blog and worked away the work load. I’d also make sure I documented all my work a lot more.
