OUGD404 Studio Brief 2 | My Grid

As I've already said, the size of my book has a ratio of 1:85:1 which is a very common aspect ratio in cinema. To go with this I decided my grid should somehow link to film as well. As I'm a big fan of cinematography and how films actually look and shot, I looked into how cinematographers go about it and what grid system they use.

It turns out there are a lot of different grids used by many different cinematographers, so I decieded to go with the most common, again. The rule of thirds grid.

Once I chose this grid I started playing around with it seeing what I could do, but it turned out wherever I put a title or text box, it was always to the left or right or above or below the grid lines where they should be.

The content should overlap the grid lines, and going this way about the grid avoids that, which doesn't work, so I altered it slightly.

By making the grid 6x6 instead of 3x3, it means I can align the content to the half way grid it will overlap into the 3rd sections of the grid... if that makes sense?
