OUGD404 Studio Brief 2 | Initial Ideas

For my book I wanted the content to be something I was interested in but also something that other's would be too; such as film. I had a few ideas such as;

• Academy 'Best Picture' winners
• Cult classic films
• Film posters and artists
• Film soundtracks
• Focus on one director
• The importance of cinematography
• Famous cinematographers

After talks with my class mates the most popular idea was focusing on one director.

At first I struggled who to pick as there are obviously such a range to choose from. A director I really like is Denis Villeneuve, but he doesn't have a very extensive career to fill a book about. Other director's I thought would be good were;

• Stephen Spielberg
• Martin Scorcese
• Christopher Nolan
• Richard Linklater
• David Lynch
• Quentin Tarantino
• Wes Anderson

And many more. I wanted to choose someone who had a very distinctive and recognisable style that I could somehow incorporate into my design. In the end I chose Quentin Tarantino even though I'm not a massive fan of his as I though that a book about him and his films could look very interesting.
