OUGD404 Studio Brief 2 | Design Principle Book Design

Tarantino is know for the violence in his films, so I wanted to take the and use it in my design somehow. I had a few ideas that included things like blood splatters, type made from spilt blood, red pages etc. I felt that going down that road would make the book feel kind of tacky so I wanted it to be slightly more subtle and take a red square (same 1:85:1 ratio) and place it over images to give it a dangerous feel.

I think this is a nice way to represent Tarantino's violent style without it seeming cheap.
